Out and back trail of a total of 7 miles with lots of rock steps.
The only downfall is that it is a very popular trail with casual and serious hikers so it can become quite crowded.
My very first official hike with the Upstate Hiking group for 6.5 miles of a strenuous but very enjoyable hike. Hospital Rock is a huge rock that got it’s name during the civil war because they would drag the wounded soldiers there for recovery. It has a large outcropping that makes for a nice cove to sit under.
The Falls Creek Falls portion of the trail has a beautiful double deck waterfall. This was an amazing hike. There were 8 of us and we completed it with stops for lunch, breaks and pictures in 5 hours and 30 minutes.
